Mark your calendar for Aug 4! We will
have Mary Frances Hodges as our speaker. She is the author of "John Sarber,
The State Senator from Johnson County" among several other books. She has
also contributed several articles to the Encyclopedia of Arkansas History
and Culture, as well as the Society's Journal. She is Professor Emeritus
of UALR having taught there 20 years. She came out of retirement to teach
writing at Pulaski Technical College. Mrs. Hodges will speak on the founding
of Clarksville and also the 'rise and fall' of Sarber County. See you at
the Clarksville City Hall at 7 on Aug. 4th. Bring your friends - they won't
want to miss this one
